Obama and Clinton's joint meeting in Unity, NH

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama joined together in NH today to try and start the process of uniting the Democratic Party for the general election. I honestly felt bad for Hillary you could tell this was killing her. Obama for his part promised to work on equal pay for women. This was undoubtly an effort to win back the women that have joined McCain's Campaign. You could really tell that Hillary was affected when the crowd started chanting Obama's name while she was speaking. Later Obama help led a chant of Hillary during his speech. Of course they both hit the Democratic talking points comparing McCain to Bush and saying the country was headed in the wrong direction. Obama also repeated his obsurd claim that McCain wanted to say in Iraq for a hundred years. Looks like the Dems have run out of new ideas, assuming they ever had any.

  1. Now that we’re beyond Hillary, we can look forward to the first female VP, Sarah Palin, to become the first female President of the United States in 4 years!

  2. I like that pick Ted. I was thinking Huckabee or Romney early on. But a pro life woman would be a great choice.

  3. Someone explain to me why the 100 years comment is unfair. Seriously. Because he added the qualifier that it would be like our presence in Korea or Japan or Germany following those wars?

Too things: wishful thinking on McCain's part does not constitute a plan, and claiming that you want to keep troops in Iraq long after victory is secured -- if victory is secured -- is not going to be a popular position. Especially when you offer no sign that you'd pull them out if things don't work out the way you'd hope.

The 100 years quote is fair game. He said it, he meant it, and without some admission that there might be a point when he'd be willing to give up the ghost in Iraq, debating its context is pointless, because he hasn't offered any alternative.
